About the The Occasional Gourmet!

Kathleen Royal Phillips has been a member of the Oxmoor House test kitchen team (Southern Living cookbooks, Cooking Light cookbooks, Coastal Living Magazine, etc.), in Birmingham, AL for over 20 years. 

During that time, she attained the position of Test Kitchen Director and more recently has become part-time to spend more time with family and pursue her catering business.  Phillips' freelance food styling has appeared in magazines (including Parents magazine, Yankee Magazine, Coastal Living and Weight Watchers magazine), billboards, cookbooks, and TV commercials. She is also a food columnist for Christian Woman magazine. She was named the 2004 Gardendale Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year.

Her attention to detail and love of gourmet food are evident in each dish prepared for you as The Occasional Gourmet.
